Chris Hillman is showing that he holds no animosity toward his former band mates -- or his musical past. It became a Desert Rose Band reunion of sorts Friday night when John Jorgenson joined Hillman and Herb Pedersen at their show at the Station Inn in Nashville. The trio ran through almost all of their old band's repertoire, including "Summer Wind," "I Still Believe in You," and "Love Reunited." But they had trouble when they tried to play "He's Back & I'm Blue," as Hillman couldn't remember the lyrics. They also reached back to Hillman's Byrds days with renditions of "Turn Turn Turn" and "Eight Miles High." Hillman's slated to head overseas later this week to launch a tour in Japan on Sunday. He'll be back performing on these shores again next month, starting with a show in Earlsville, New York on June 13th. |
